it is important to go through the check list of requirements when searching for the ideal beach volleyball competition top:
2. no adjustable strings to slide around
3. no pressure on shoulders
4. looks good
5. holds the girls in place
6. wicking material that can handle the sand and sweat
…if a top meets all of these needs, then comes time to look into more specifics.
Odina Surf was kind enough to sponsor my partner and i with two competition tops. one of which was the Bombora Top, and it did just the trick in helping us climb our way up to being one of the top performing teams in the mountain west beach volleyball scene.
ODINA SURF is a company that uses recyclable products and has a green conscious. they are based in Southern California and not only support beach volleyballers, but they are a favored brand in the surf lifestyle community.
their Bombora Top comes in multiple colors and rings in at $78. it is a sporty style with color blocking and wide straps for comfort. while it does have strings on the back (which i generally try to avoid), they are minimal. they don’t enable the top to slide around which means that we aren’t constantly adjusting our tops during our competitions.

this top has quickly become one of my favorites (and i have many to choose from). they have matching bottoms as well that are quite “cheeky” and adorable. while on the court i prefer to have slightly more coverage so i choose to wait the Odina Bombara with a pair of my own matching black bottoms.
