A Lifetime of Patagonia Pilot Jackets

years ago, while searching for a new waterproof jacket and wardrobe staple, i made a decision that changed my life. i had never owned anything from the outdoor attire company Patagonia, but i decided that any company that was named after a place that magical, must be worth purchasing.  so in 2007, for the first time in my life, i splurged on Patagonia. the Patagonia Pilot Jacket to be more specific. since that time my bright jacket has experienced life’s most fantastically fun and inclement conditions with me, all across the globe….including a windy, rainy, and unforgettable Alaskan glacial boat cruise we experienced the day after our Alaskan wedding, a few short weeks ago.

Honeymooning Through Alaska’s Kenai Fjords

generally when you hear of a destination wedding, you hear about sandy beaches and bathing suits. joe and i chose a different route. our wedding destination of choice was Alaska, and i traded in my bathing suit for my Patagonia Piolet Jacket. we had two weeks to adventure through this outdoors(wo)man’s dream state, and one of the highlights was a full day kayaking trip through the Kenai Fjords.

Perfectly Imperfect, in Life and Photo Shoots

i have been on a blogging hiatus for the past two and half weeks, and for good reason.  i went and got myself hitched! i now have an abundance of memories to reflect upon the perfection that was our Alaskan destination wedding/honeymoon/adventure.

perfection, of course, being relative.

our wedding wasn’t without its flaws, but it was all ours.
